Georgia’s coast is home to some of the world’s most pristine ecosystems. We must act now to protect it.

In Georgia, we are known for our beautiful coasts, picturesque landscapes, and rural wilderness. But most importantly, this is our home. With federal protections being stripped away day-by-day, Georgia lawmakers must take a stand to protect our home. Georgia’s coast is vulnerable to oil exploration and drilling, which includes processes that destroy entire habitats and migration processes for marine life that depend on our coasts and too call it home.

As we go further into the 21st century, it is clear that we switch to clean, renewable energy before the pollution damage we inflict on our planet is irreversible. Our youth and children will inherit this land from us, and if we don’t act soon, our legacy will be one of laziness and disregard for the continuity of preserving life on Earth. As your State Representative, I will:

  • Introduce legislation that bans drilling off of Georgia’s coast, including any testing that would disturb ecosystems, such as seismic blasting.

  • Support a $0.15 per tax on plastic grocery bags, encouraging use of reusable bags for shopping.

  • Support banning bee-killing pesticides that affect Georgia’s agricultural community.

  • Enact legislation that expands state parks and preserves our most vulnerable wildlife.

  • Introduce legislation that aims to a massive transition to clean, renewable energy by 2025.
